We are the Bird family, Cameron, Cassie, Will, Amelia & Harry. We love travelling around Australia and experiencing everything this country has to offer in our caravan.
We get asked this a bunch and our answer is always the same. It is impossible and unfair to compare because each place is very different and amazing for its own reasons and each person will experience it differently based on their taste, weather or who parks next to you.
For us here is our list of top places we have been
Caravan
We have a 23ft Tough Spec family van built by Vibe Caravans. It is a quad layout with three bunks. We have upgraded it to 900ah of lithium battery and 1300w of solar which we find is more than enough to run all of our appliances (incl 2x A/C) off grid.
Car
The car is a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ. We bought this car primarily for its towing capability. There isn't many options when towing a 4.4t caravan and the HD trucks do it with ease. It has all the usual touring mods including a custom made boat loader. It also has a 300ah lithium battery in the canopy along with an upright fridge and freezer draw.
Boat
The boat is a 2025 Seajay 350 Nomad HS with a 15hp Suzuki 4 stroke motor. This great little high sided tinny is the perfect choice for exploring the waters with the family. We have included a rear step, flat floor and casting deck. The trailer is a dunbier fold up trailer which is also registered for road use.
